From being lost to winning gold – My journey with Youth & Work
Thanks to Youth & Work, I found my path and was given incredible opportunities: in 2022, I had dropped out of school and had no idea what to do with my life. It felt like I was stuck in a loop. Then I reached out to Youth & Work and, alongside individual coaching, I joined the “Future Generation” project. That’s when I realized I was truly passionate about event management.
I completed my first year at hotel school with top grades and was given the chance to do a four-month internship at Innsbruck Tourism – a valuable experience that helped me grow both professionally and personally.
Lately, I had the honour of representing my school at the AEHT Competition in Riga, Latvia – an international contest for hotel and tourism schools. To my great surprise, I won the gold medal for our school – an emotional moment, especially when I think about where I was just one or two years ago.
And there’s more: I’ve been selected to represent Luxembourg next year at the World Expo for three months.
I’m also now proud to serve as Youth President of the AEHT (Association for European Hotel and Tourism Schools).
I owe all of these opportunities to the support of Youth & Work – and I highly recommend that others take this chance, too!
